March 27, 2025 — a date that, for the third consecutive year, brought together the best of Bulgaria’s fine dining scene under one roof. An elegant dinner, orchestrated with precision and inspiration, celebrating those who craft gastronomic artistry every single day. This year, the “Bacchus Restaurant of the Year 2024” event was not merely an award ceremony — it was a tribute to flavor, professionalism, and the quiet excellence behind the scenes.
Events Are Crafted — Not Just Held
Organizing such an evening is always a challenge. From invitations to lighting, from the menu to the last folded napkin — everything must be flawless. 300 guests from across the country, Michelin-starred chefs from abroad, business leaders, media, diplomats, and restaurateurs — all of them expected more than just dinner.
They expected an experience!
We at Red Devil Catering were there once again — as a long-standing partner of Economedia. For yet another year, we were entrusted with all equipment and service logistics, ensuring that unmistakable sense of rhythm and reliability that only an experienced team can deliver. We were not in the spotlight — but we were present in every perfectly set table, in the calm professionalism of the servers, in the invisible choreography of the room.
Michelin Stars, Inspired Menus
Dinner was prepared by three internationally acclaimed chefs, specially invited by Mastercard:
- Ryan Blackburn, Head Chef at Old Stamp House, Ambleside, United Kingdom
- Alessandro Tormolino, Head Chef at Sensi, Amalfi, Italy
- Borja Marrero Vasquez, Head Chef at Muxgo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain
All three are part of JRE – Jeunes Restaurateurs, a European association that unites the most talented young chefs on the continent.
We’re proud to note that Bulgaria now also has three members in JRE:
- Vladislav Penov (Kosmos)
- Filip Zaharieff (Ona)
- Veselin Kalev (aEstivum, Zornitsa Estate)
From Kitchen to Spotlight — Awards That Matter
The culinary experience was complemented by an awards ceremony recognizing the finest restaurants of 2024 in the following categories:
- Signature Style – Kosmos
- Hotel Gourmet – Spectrum Restaurant
- Debut – Kuzina Greek Eatery
- Wine & Beverages – Andre
- Tasty Place – L’Etranger
- Reader’s Choice – ADOR
And the most prestigious award of the night:
- Restaurant of the Year – Valere, Plovdiv (Todor Tanchev and Melissa Manche)
The trophies, custom-designed ceramic pieces with gold accents, were as elegant and substantial as the recognition they represent.
A Six-Course Culinary Symphony
Guests were treated to a six-course tasting menu, prepared live by the guest chefs and served with surgical precision. For us at Red Devil Catering, it was a true logistical test — to serve 300 guests within minutes at every course, without compromising rhythm, timing, or the quality of service.
